I feel like a dog at the foot of your bed Waiting to be invited again Like a drum with a broken head Misleading the rhythm section Like my foot is glued to the gas And I know I'm going nowhere fast Is this it or am I just blinded I need to get out or get behind it An old man breathing his dying breath My last words will never say enough Like I'm falling without a parachute If I don't think fast this is my last move A rookie stepping up to the plate Strike out and try again next week A hopeless seeking every chance Watching the clock to make a wish A dog at the foot of a bed Collar and leash tugging at my neck I'll cower back or run and hide It's never easy to say goodbye Like my foot is glued to the gas I won't slow down I'm going to crash I don't know if I'm on the track An old man, breathing his dying breath My last words will never say enough Why do I fear the reaper if I hold the same power If I go on this way, I've got myself to blame I've got myself to change If you go on this way, you've got yourself to blame We've got to start again A drunk in need of a friend A love in need of an end A jump in need of a land I'm losing myself sinking in this sand A drunk in need of a friend A love in need of an end A jump in need of a land I'm losing myself sinking in this sand A drunk in need of a friend A love in need of an end A jump in need of a land I'm losing myself sinking in this sand A drunk in need of a friend A love in need of an end A jump in need of a land I'm losing myself sinking in this man

I'm not awkward or detached What makes you assume that Maybe I don't like you Maybe I don't want to Please get me away from here I miss my home, I miss my room Please get me away from here I'm uncomfortable, can't disappear Empty vessels make the most noise I've gone and run myself out of joy My mind is made up, I've had enough I'm overwhelmed and underjoyed Please get me away from here I miss my home, I miss my room Please get me away from here I'm uncomfortable and I need to go I'm not awkward or detached What makes you assume that I'm not awkward or detached Please don't make me go back Rock bottom has a basement, pick me off the pavement If you could have it all, why would you want to change it Rock bottom has a basement, pick me off the pavement If I could have it all, why don't I want to chase that

I'm at Waffle House, you're at Goodwill I'm coming down from a weekend bender You just blew your money from the dry cleaners I knew something was up When you didn't say a word from across the table Don't play so dumb, and come forward I'm in my bed, you're lying next to me You make a comment about how my Cheeks turn red and I get flustered Every time that you come over If I was annoying surely you would tell me And I'd act like you weren't the reason I was happy I'm at a friends house, you're still grounded I can't sleep 'cause of Jim Beam bourbon I really thought I was drunk in love I guess that we're both just drunk It's a problem when it's me It's amusing when it's you Answer your phone every once in a while So I don't confess my love in a stupid voicemail Answer your phone every once in a while So I don't confess my love in a stupid voicemail So I don't confess my love in a stupid voicemail

It's not me, it's all you If you could just tell the truth I don't know my name But you seem to have it written down for me Lost in translation, apologies have lost their value Am I a distraction from all that is happening to you How do we go on What have you become Is this what you want Has it been that long How do you not understand what I'm trying to say Are you ignoring me just like every other day Advice I give you, brushed off until you see it live Do you believe in me? Am I a ghost? Hear me cry How do we go on What have you become Is this what you want Has it been that long You can tell me all that you crave If you listen and you behave I will tell you all that I know If you care then let your eyes show Display me on a pedestal I promise I won't let you down Keep hoping and praying that Someday you'll come back around You can tell me all that you crave If you listen and you behave I will tell you all that I know If you care then let your eyes show How do we go on What have you become Is this what you want Has it been that long How do we go on (You can tell me all that you crave) What have you become (If you listen and you behave) Is this what you want (I will tell you all that I know) Has it been that long (If you care then let your eyes show) It's not me, it's all you If you could just tell the truth It's not me, it's all you If you could just tell the truth It's not me, it's all you If you could just tell the truth It's not me, it's all you If you could just tell the truth

I'll never get married I'll never settle down I'll never be happy I'm no fun to be around I won't get out of my head I'm too damn shallow I won't get out of my bed I want my pillow I can't continue It just doesn't feel right I can't go without you What I'd give to not be alone tonight I'll never get married I won't get out of my head I can't continue I'd rather down a pack of Marlboro Reds with you I'll never be happy I won't get out of my head I can't go without you I'd rather share my lucky Turkish Royal with you

Haven't slept right in a while Not sure how to feel My mind never stops Not sure how to deal I hope that you're okay Sorry I don't have much to say I know I'll stay Lying and waiting Do you remember? Do you remember? Do you remember? Do you remember? Not sure what to think Maybe I'm wrong Do you know the answers or Do you just play along Don't keep me guessing I won't win this game I just want Want you to feel the same Do you remember? Do you remember? Do you remember? Do you remember? Do you remember? Do you remember? Do you remember? Do you remember? Do you remember? Do you remember? Do you remember? Do you remember?

Scripts 04:23
Falling behind Writing scripts to play out in mind Waiting, Retracing Put it off until I think it's time Can anyone tell me my line All of my thoughts intertwine What I rehearsed was alone With no one to tell me it was wrong Would you cover for me And improvise a soliloquy Is this the track The orchestra plays as I crack As history repeats itself I start to recognize the scene before me As I again, repeat myself I start to recognize the habits forming I'm falling into bad habits again Bad habits again I'm falling into bad habits again Bad habits again I'm falling into bad habits again Bad habits again I'm falling into bad habits again Bad habits again

about

This is our debut album, written and recorded between 2018 and 2022. It's indie rock, with elements of post-punk and shoegaze sprinkled throughout. We hope you enjoy!

"Blond Guru provides a comfort blanket that soothes the inner teen who discovered indie rock music for the first time in the early 2010s. The St. Louis-based band’s debut album, “Your Friends,” has a web of nostalgia that connects its rhythms to bands such as the Vaccines, Arctic Monkeys, and even back to the 90s’ Britpop and lo-fi scenes. Lead singer Noah Gregory’s sprechgesang vocals, combined with the varying heights and rhythmic solos across the album’s tracks, brings similarities to songs such as “Beetlebum” by Blur and “Zürich is Stained” by Pavement. The lyrics throughout “Your Friends” are deeply personal—brief yet powerful, akin to former Black Country New Road lead singer Isaac Wood’s writing style. Standout songs from “Your Friends” include “Awkward/Detached,” “MR/TR,” and “Scripts.” This is a must-listen album that will force you to reckon with your foundations—where you started to become your true self."
